I know what you might be thinking- man, she’s two weeks late with this post. However, there is a method to my madness, and instead of doing this post on New Year’s Day, I opted to do one better; I decided to do this reflection post today, my 26th birthday!
I want to start by saying that I can pinpoint the exact moment when I realized I wanted to be a photographer. I see the memory vividly in my mind and that very experience serves as a daily reminder of the power of photography.
It has been a long journey since that first moment in my first photo class in 2007 (please refer to my previous blog post for the full story) and 2016 was another year full of learning, growing, and a constant desire to capture life’s best moments.
In the 12-month time span I not only shot well over 50 occasions between both my full-time photography job and personal projects (including weddings, parties, engagement shoots, bridal showers, etc.) I too was a bride and married the love of life, a experience that helps me better relate to my clients. Overall, I can sum up 2016 by saying that both professionally and personally, I have walked away from 2016 a better photographer and person.
And with that, I introduce my first blog for 2017, may we walk this journey together as I continue to document the stops along the way in my own words.
Here are some of my favorite shots of 2016.
